The findings will be used to inform the public and policy makers, in order to take measures for the reduction of human exposure to these aerosol sources. By combing field and lab work, the proposal will i) assess the spatial and temporal variability of ROS in PM in Athens by performing measurements in well characterized urban, and suburban background sites ii) investigate the chemical species and quantify the sources controlling the ROS variability in PM and iii) compare the OP of selected fine aerosol sources, known to be present in Athens, such as car exhaust, wood burning and cooking and will be derived from the lab facilities with the field samples. The final aim of this proposal is to identify and quantify the aerosol sources having the most important health impact, information which can used in regional models to obtain a more complete picture for the whole Greece and for proposing alternatives, especially for local sources in order to mitigate the adverse health effect of PM.<\/p>\n","role":"Coordination of the project, implementation of measurements and dissemination of the results.","website":"http:\/\/apcg.meteo.noa.gr\/index.php\/projects\/regenerate-reactive-oxygen-species-in-aerosols-assessing-the-health-effect-of-particulate-matter","start_date":"April 1, 2020","end_date":"April 30, 2024","logo":false,"research_areas":["Environment and Health"]},"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/apcg.idcom.gr\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/projects\/312","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/apcg.idcom.gr\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/projects"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/apcg.idcom.gr\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/projects"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/apcg.idcom.gr\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=312"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
