While dust episodes are becoming less frequent overall in some regions, they are also becoming more intense. Significant increases in dust-event intensity were observed across the\u00a0<strong>Aegean and the wider Adriatic\u2013Ionian\u2013Balkan region<\/strong>\u00a0during 2012\u20132021.<\/p>\n<p>The study also highlights the potential health implications of changing dust exposure, estimating that dust pollution is associated with an approximately\u00a0<strong>0.6% increase in mortality<\/strong>.
