The\u00a0Human Planet Forum 2025<\/strong>, organized by the\u00a0Joint Research Centre (JRC) of the European Commission<\/strong>, brought together members of the international Human Planet community to discuss new approaches to settlement analysis, poverty mapping, open data integration and synergies with\u00a0Copernicus<\/strong>\u00a0and other Earth Observation programmes.<\/p>\n

A key focus of the Forum was the development of the next\u00a0Atlas of the Human Planet<\/strong>\u00a0and the growing role of integrated Earth Observation data in supporting a more comprehensive understanding of human settlements and their relationship with the environment.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0National Observatory of Athens (NOA)<\/strong>\u00a0is an official member of the Human Planet community.\u00a0Evangelos Gerasopoulos<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Orestis Speyer<\/strong>\u00a0actively participated in the Forum sessions, contributing to the discussions and supporting the Initiative\u2019s activities within the wider\u00a0GEO<\/strong>\u00a0community.<\/p>\n
